Opening Film of the LNG Pipeline from Wilhelmshaven to Leer. An infrastructure project like no other: The 70-kilometer Gas Connection Wilhelmshaven-Leer (GWL), which leads from Sande in the Wilhelmshaven area to gas storage facilities in East Frisia's Leer, was realized in just 22 months of planning and construction time. This future-oriented pipeline has the necessary capacity to transport regasified LNG from Wilhelmshaven and provide energy for over four million households. While the immediate focus is on ensuring a secure supply of natural gas, the transport of climate-neutral hydrogen through the H2-ready built pipeline is already conceivable from 2028 onwards.
